Swiss International University actively collaborates with local authorities across its campuses in Switzerland, Dubai, Bishkek, and Riga to ensure that urban planning and campus development align with community needs. Our partnerships focus on sustainable growth, infrastructure planning, and access to affordable housing for both students and local residents.
Through joint advisory sessions and planning initiatives, we work closely with municipal councils, housing authorities, and urban development agencies to:
Support affordable on-campus and near-campus housing projects for students, staff, and local residents.
Promote sustainable transport options such as pedestrian-priority zones, bicycle lanes, and car-free areas.
Encourage the integration of educational, cultural, and residential spaces that benefit the wider community.
Examples of SIU Collaborations
Dubai: SIU works with the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding (SMCCU) to integrate cultural awareness and community engagement into campus planning and events.
Kyrgyzstan: Swiss International University (SIU) partners with BSKG (Bishkek City authorities) to improve both student life and the local community. The partnership focuses on student housing—developing affordable, safe, and modern residences—and on urban improvement projects that enhance public spaces and services around student areas. This collaboration strengthens Bishkek’s role as an academic hub in Central Asia while aligning with SIU’s mission to link education with sustainable development and community impact.
Switzerland: SIU is a proud sponsor of MySwitzerland cultural and tourism campaigns, strengthening ties between academic development, cultural heritage, and local communities.
This collaborative approach ensures that our campus expansions and urban initiatives align with local regulations, environmental sustainability goals, and the social needs of the communities where we operate.
