D.PHIL. DOCTORATE

The Doctorate of Philosophy (DPhil) is recognized worldwide as a research program. You will choose a specialist area of research, write a thesis based on your research and then complete a defense. At the defense, you will present, discuss and defend your research thesis to a panel of academic experts in the field.

D.Phil:

This program is conducted entirely online, offering you the flexibility to pursue your research from anywhere in the world. Upon enrollment, you will be assigned a dedicated research supervisor who will provide guidance and support throughout your research journey. Regular communication with your supervisor will be facilitated via email and video conferences. When you and your supervisor agree that your thesis is ready for defense, it will be conducted via video conference. Alternatively, you have the option to travel to Switzerland for the defense if you prefer.

This program is equivalent to EQF (European Qualifications Framework) Level 8 - Doctorate Level. It is exclusively research-based, with no assignments or exams, focusing solely on the development and completion of your thesis.

Your thesis should typically range between 45,000 to 60,000 words, covering chapters 1 through 5. You have a maximum of 6 years to complete your thesis, with the average completion time being 3 years and a minimum of 2 years.

The program does not include specific subjects for study; instead, it centers entirely on your chosen specialization, which forms the basis of your thesis.

Upon successful completion of the program, you are entitled to use the title conferred by the Swiss International University.

The language of instruction for this program is English, and we offer 5 intakes per year with the possibility of additional intakes.

Admission requirements include being at least 25 years old, holding a Master's degree or its equivalent, and demonstrating proficiency in English through tests like IELTS or equivalent, particularly for students from non-English speaking backgrounds or those who have not studied in English-speaking schools.

Doctorate in Law LLD

This Doctorate Program has it focuses on a specialized section of the law that deals with agency rules, government regulations, and precedents at the local, state, and then federal levels. Examples of main courses include Administrative Process, Theory of Administrative Actions, Judicial Review, Administrative Procedure Act, Agency Organization, Promulgation, and Determination of Administrative Regulations.

LL.D.:

How long should be my thesis?
Usually, it should be from 60.000 – 100.000 words (from Chapter 1 to Chapter 5). Students are allowed to have 10% less or more, however, the supervisor can allow a student to write more.
