Full Access for All Students Across All Our Campuses – Starting 1 January 2025

In support of Sustainable Development Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, we are proud to announce that starting from 1 January 2025, all enrolled students at Swiss International University and its academic divisions will have free access to all our buildings and libraries across all cities.

This initiative promotes inclusive and equitable access to academic resources, fosters urban connectivity, and enhances the shared use of educational infrastructure in every location we serve—including Zurich, Lucerne, Bishkek, Dubai, and beyond.

Swiss International University SIU is committed to ensuring general public access to our campus and surrounding community spaces. Open all year-round, our facilities invite students, visitors, and local residents to explore, learn, and engage with our environment. With cultural significance particularly in promoting education, diversity, and community life, our campus offers residential neighborhoods, parks, playgrounds, and gathering areas designed to bring people together and make everyone feel welcome and at home.

For example, our annual International Culture Week opens the campus to the entire city, featuring art exhibitions, music performances, and lectures that celebrate the diverse heritage of our students and faculty. Additionally, our Community Science Fair invites local schools and families to participate in hands-on experiments and workshops, while the Heritage Film Nights bring together residents and visitors to explore world cinema and cultural storytelling under the open sky.

Music Nights were held on Ala-Too Square in September 2024.

By enabling our students to study and engage in any of our campus facilities—regardless of their primary location—we are contributing to the creation of inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable urban academic environments.
